Evaluation Part 1- The Brief

The brief stated that we had to create a new music artist, for which we had to create a Magazine Advert, 6-8 panel DigiPak and Music Video. I initially started searching for a music artist on YouTube, but the final chosen song was taken off an unsigned music artist. We chose to use the song Jackie Boyz- Callin’ Me. My partner and I specifically took a liking to this song because it was a very typical Hip-Hop/ Soul song which is what we had both been looking into, before putting our ideas together to produce a final outcome. After doing further research into the artist, we contacted him through email, and twitter which he gave us permission to do so. At this point, we both had a vague idea of what we wanted to achieve for this music video, and how we wanted to go about doing it, it was simply a matter of putting these ideas down and forming a script.

Blog Reflection 9

During this week, we returned to school and uploaded all the footage we filmed during the holidays. The footage we shot came out very clear and my partner and I are very pleased with the outcome. We have edited the footage we have gathered so far, and it looks exactly how we visualised it to be. However, there are parts where we need to use cuts  and close ups to hide the continuity errors that we have made. The continuity will also be a problem  throughout the music video as the weather and the lighting outside is changing as it is getting darker quicker therefore we have less time to record in the daytime which means it will naturally look darker when we are recording. Another problem that we have when recording is the timing as our actors cannot film at certain times therefore our filming schedule doesn't work at this time.
Also, during our free time my partner and I learnt how to use the green screen, whilst we don't have much to be doing at this point in the project. We will possibly use the green screen for our photoshoot of the Artist for the Magazine Advert.
